temperaments... i took a temperament test last night. the four ancient(at least the original idea and designated words are ancient) types are: sanguine, choleric, melancholy and phlegmatic. it turns out that i'm sanguine (50%)/phlegmatic (25%) with a little melancholy. which basically means i'm outgoing, laid-back, and prone to procrastination and disorganization. pretty spot-on. anyway, it was kinda interesting, and i started to wonder which temperaments that bruce and costanza might have. i'm guessing bruce is a mixture of melancholy and choleric but i'm not sure which is dominant . and costanza is probably melancholy and sanguine. i imagine melancholy is more dominant. also, frank martin's temperament - angry/EMAW.
EMAW is killing me. back in the day, our expectations were so low that failure was often more comedic than heartbreaking. but now... now we have a reason to believe. we should expect no fewer than 25 wins this season, and a trip to the sweet sixteen, if not the elite eight, with the potential to sneak into the final four. i don't know if we can handle it. as my good EMAW friend glenn has said all season long - "i don't have a category for this." already this season we have had our highest ranking in 40 or 50 years. our longest winning streak in a couple of decades. our best non-conference performance since my grandparents were about my age... and i don't know what to do. to have hope in EMAW is to know defeat and despair. should we set ourselves up for such a dynamic fall? given that something terrible does indeed happen... or should we bravely march on, full of anger, full of hope, full of EMAW? i say we march. but as every loyal EMAW knows, this may go badly, so look out below... and hide the whiskey...
